Field

Welcome to Field

a development environment for making digital art

This is Field's wiki/documentation/bug tracking/repository browsing website. Field is a software product initiated by OpenEnded Group, for the creation of their digital artworks. It is an environment for writing code (specifically Python) to rapidly and experimentally assemble and explore algorithmic systems created in code (specifically Java).

The OpenEnded Group's main website contains more general audience information concerning the group's work, history and future plans. This site provides tools that will aid the development of Field by a growing open source community. Field is distributed under the GPL v3 license, and includes or depends on several other open source projects.

This site is run on Trac, a popular open source product for the web-based management of software projects — documentation about Trac.

This is where Field is developed, and the information here (and the source code) can be browsed by anybody. But to really contribute — submit patches, edit pages and get our attention — you'll need an account on this website.
